Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 13, 2026
Free Teacher Resources (“we”, “us”, the “Site”) provides free, printable and interactive teaching tools at freeteacherresources.org. We care about your privacy and keep things simple: accounts are free and optional, and we do not sell your personal information.
Information we collect
- Optional accounts. You can use every tool without signing up. If you choose to create an account (to approve tools or report issues), we collect your email address and any display name and role you add to your profile. See “Accounts and authentication” below.
- On-device storage. If you use the site without an account, favorited tools are saved in your browser’s local storage and never sent to us. When you sign in, favorites are stored in your account so they sync across devices.
- Feedback you send. If you use our feedback form, we receive the message you write and, only if you choose to provide it, your email address — so we can reply.
- Usage analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the Site is used — for example, which tools are most popular, how visitors find us, and what devices they use. Google Analytics collects data such as pages visited, time on page, general location (country/region), browser, and device type. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. See “Analytics” below for opt-out options.
- Standard server logs. Our hosting provider may record basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited to keep the Site secure and working.
Accounts and authentication
Accounts are optional and are only needed to endorse (“Teacher Approve”) a tool, report an issue, or keep a profile. We use Supabase as our authentication and database provider, acting as a data processor on our behalf.
- What we store. Your email address, your sign-in method, and any profile details you choose to add (display name, role, school, city, state, profile photo, and custom public URL). If you approve a tool, favorite a tool, or report an issue, we store that submission linked to your account.
- Sign-in methods. You can sign in with Google, an email magic link, or an email and password. If you use Google, you authenticate with Google directly; we receive your basic account info (such as email and name) and never see your Google password.
- What’s public. If you set up a public profile, your display name, role, school, city, state, profile photo, approved tools, and favorited tools may be visible to anyone who visits your profile page. Your email address is never shown publicly.
- Deleting your account. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time through our feedback page.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to collect aggregated usage statistics — things like which tools are used most, how people navigate the Site, and what countries visitors come from. This helps us understand what to build and improve. Google Analytics uses cookies and may transmit data to Google servers in the United States.
- We do not use Google Analytics to collect personally identifiable information, and we have not enabled advertising features (remarketing, demographics, or interest reports) in our Analytics account.
- You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- For more information on how Google handles Analytics data, see Google’s data safeguarding policies.
Cookies and advertising
We may display ads served by Google, including through Google AdSense.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices.
- For more information about how Google uses data, see How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Children’s privacy
This Site is designed for teachers and parents. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Educators and parents should supervise children’s use of any website.
Your choices
You can clear cookies and local storage at any time in your browser settings. Most browsers let you block cookies, though some site features (like saved favorites) may stop working if you do.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above.
