Black-throated Green Warbler

Setophaga virens

A yellow-faced warbler of northern forests that sings a buzzy 'zee-zee-zee-zoo-zee' from the treetops.

About the Black-throated Green Warbler

Black-throated green warblers are 4.3 to 4.7 inches long and weigh about as much as two nickels. They have olive-green backs, bright yellow faces and black-and-white wings; males have black throats. They live in northern forests of the U.S. and Canada with both evergreen and leafy trees, and winter in mountain forests. They hover to pluck insects from the undersides of leaves.[1]
