An endangered white ibis with a black head and pale blue eyes that lives along the coasts of western Madagascar and Aldabra.

About the Malagasy Sacred Ibis

Malagasy sacred ibises, also called Madagascar sacred ibises, are white with black heads, necks and bills and fluffy black feathers on the rump. Compared with other sacred ibises, they are smaller, with pale blue eyes, a thinner bill and white wing tips. They live on coastal mudflats, sandy shores, mangroves and salty river banks of western Madagascar and Aldabra in the Seychelles.[1]
